Corruption may be equated with high treason
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is proposing to the Ukrainian parliament to equate corruption with high treason for the duration of martial law.
According to him, the parliament will receive a draft law within a week. He emphasized that such an initiative should become a serious tool to prevent civil servants from thinking about corrupt practices.
He also said that he would like the 2024 presidential election to go ahead as planned. However, according to him, it is difficult to organize elections in the midst of hostilities, and it is also against the law.
Drones attack Russia
Russia said that during the night of August 27 and in the morning, the country was attacked by two aircraft-type drones. Allegedly, they were destroyed by air defense over the Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. One drone crashed into an apartment building.
At the same time, Ukrainian media, citing their own sources, write that SBU counterintelligence used kamikaze drones to strike four Russian Su-30 aircraft and one MiG-29. In addition, Ukrainian drones attacked the radars of the S-300 air defense system and two Pantsyr anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.
The names of all pilots killed in Zhytomyr Oblast incident revealed
The names of all the pilots killed in the plane crash in Zhytomyr Oblast have been revealed.
In addition to the famous pilot with the call sign Juice, two more soldiers died in the plane crash: Vyacheslav Minka and Serhiy Prokazin.
The plane crash occurred on August 25, ahead of Aviation Day, near the village of Sinhury, Zhytomyr Oblast.
Shelling by the occupiers
On the night of August 27, the Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with X-101 / X-55 / X-555 air-launched cruise missiles.
The attack did not result in any hits, but the falling debris destroyed civilian infrastructure in Kyiv Oblast. Two people were injured as a result of the falling debris - they received help on the spot.
During the day, the occupiers also fired at Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts.
In Kherson Oblast, one woman sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack. Another person was injured and hospitalized.
Russian occupation forces also shelled the central part of Kherson. A woman was killed and a 51-year-old man was wounded in the shelling.
In Kharkiv Oblast, a woman who was inside her house during the shelling was killed.
Defense forces advance in Zaporizhzhya Oblast
In Zaporizhzhya Oblast, the Defense Forces are advancing south of Robotyne to the villages of Novoprokopivka and Ocheretuvate, and east of Orikhiv to Mala Tokmachka.
Ukrainian troops also succeeded in the areas of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, as well as Urozhayne and Staromayorske in Donetsk Oblast.
