An explosion occurs in a 16—story building in Kyiv, preliminarily due to a gas leak; the search for a missing submarine with tourists continues in the Atlantic Ocean; Russia is planning a terrorist attack on the ZNPP with a radiation leakage, Zelenskyy said. We have collected the key news for June 22.
Explosion in Kyiv
The explosion occurred at 03:34 on June 22, 2023, in a 16-story building on Malyshka Street in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv. According to investigators, the explosion was probably caused by a gas leak and destroyed structures on three floors. The epicenter of the explosion was probably on the 7th-8th floor of the building.

The explosion killed 3 people. In the afternoon, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported 9 victims, three of whom were hospitalized. Rescuers also rescued 20 people.
Search for the missing ship
The Titan submersible belongs to OceanGate, a company that organizes trips to the Titanic wreck for $250,000. Communication with Titan was lost on June 18, 1 hour and 45 minutes after the dive.
As of 21:00 on June 22, the search for the ship continued. Earlier, the US Coast Guard reported that a field of debris had been found in the area where the missing submarine with tourists was being searched.
It is noted that the wreckage was found by a remotely operated vehicle near the sunken Titanic ship. Experts are currently studying this information.
Later, the media reported that the wreckage was probably the landing frame and rear cover of the missing submarine.
Warning of a possible terrorist attack at ZNPP
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine had received information about a possible terrorist act by Russia at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant with a radiation leakage.
The Head of State noted that, according to intelligence, the Russians have already prepared everything for a terrorist act. Zelenskyy reminded that radiation knows no state borders and “who it will hit is determined only by the direction of the wind”.
Explosions on bridges near Crimea
Explosions occurred on the bridges between Kherson Oblast and Crimea, near Chongar, the occupation authorities said on the morning of June 22. According to them, the strike was allegedly caused by British Storm Shadow missiles. The road surface on the bridges was damaged. There were no casualties.
The collaborators claimed that the connection between Crimea and Kherson is still in operation. Traffic is organized through a backup route.
