Explosion of gas cylinders in Volyn, shelling of Sumy Oblast: last night's highlights

In Volyn, two tourist gas cylinders exploded in a high—rise building, injuring one person; in Sumy Oblast, Russians shelled a community while a funeral was taking place there. Here's is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Explosion of gas cylinders in Volyn Oblast

In Volyn, in the city of Novovolynsk, an explosion occurred in an apartment on the 4th floor, where a mother with two children were staying. Early reports indicate that one tourist gas cylinder exploded, and another one detonated because of it. The woman suffered minor burns, but refused to be hospitalized.


Shelling in Sumy Oblast

On December 10, Russian troops continued shelling Sumy Oblast. They opened mortar fire on Znob-Novhorod community, where a funeral procession was taking place at that time. There were 10 mine explosions. Russians shelled the yard and the road near the house of the deceased. People managed to hide in the shelter.


Strike at hotel in Luhansk Oblast

Russian occupation troops reported a strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on a private hotel in Kadiyivka (Stakhanov), Luhansk Oblast. Telegram channels write that it is the "Zhdanov Guest House", where there were members of the PMC "Wagner". At the same time, the occupation administration claims that the hotel was not working.


Other news:

  • Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesman for the Odesa regional governor, denied that the authorities urge residents of Odesa and the region to evacuate due to the difficult situation with power supply. This was earlier recommended by a department of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration;
  • Israel donated modern medical equipment for the Kyiv children's hospital, including robotic rehabilitation systems, special devices for children with autism, etc;
  • Azerbaijan will transfer 45 power transformers and 50 generators in response to Ukraine's requests.
