Export ban of fuel wood, shelling in Donetsk and Kharkiv Oblasts: today's highlights

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned the export of fuel wood amid Russian attacks on the energy system. Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk, Vovchansk, and Kupiansk on the afternoon of November 25. We have collected the key news for today.

Shelling of Kherson

74 shells have hit Kherson since November 20. Russian shelling killed 15 people, and 35 more were wounded, including one child. This was reported by the head of the Kherson city military administration Halyna Luhova in a video message.

In particular, the occupants carried out a massive shelling of residential buildings in the city. The buildings were damaged and a strong fire started. Because of this, 58 Kherson residents, including 22 children, had to be urgently evacuated.

The Government of Ukraine has banned the export of fuel wood

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned the export of fuel wood against the background of Russian attacks on the energy system. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

He explained that the ban on exports will contribute to the accumulation of fuel wood in Ukraine, because in many communities, especially near the front, wood is now the main resource for heating. According to Shmyhal, Russian attacks on the energy system only increase the strategic importance of this resource.

Germany discusses with allies Poland's proposal to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine does not require the Alliance's approval, as the German defense minister had previously said. An unnamed German government official told Reuters that Germany is already discussing the Polish proposal with its allies.

Victims of missile strikes on the energy sector

Russian strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine have killed at least 77 civilians and injured 272 others. This was reported by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk.

For example, just on November 23 in Kyiv and the region, 8 civilians were killed and at least 45 were injured. And in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region, a two-day-old boy was killed and two doctors were wounded as a result of shelling of the hospital.

Occupants shelled Kramatorsk

Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast on the afternoon of November 25. The buildings are damaged and a 71-year-old man was wounded. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko and the mayor of Kramatorsk Oleksandr Honcharenko.

The occupants hit the industrial area and damaged two administrative buildings. A medical infrastructure building was also destroyed and three high-rise buildings were damaged.

Shelling of Kupiansk and Vovchansk

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov reported about the shelling.

According to him, occupants attacked Kupiansk at night and in the morning with S-300 missiles. There were hits on the territory of a kindergarten and a hospital. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

According to Syniehubov, a residential building in Vovchansk was damaged as a result of shelling. A 66-year-old man was hospitalized with a wound. In addition, another 69-year-old man hit a mine. He was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
