Farion's dismissal and investigation into the death of a child during dental treatment: highlights for November 15

The Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case against Iryna Farion and she was later dismissed as a professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University; investigators established a preliminary cause of the boy's death during dental treatment. We have collected the main news for November 15, 2023.
Continuation of the story with Farion
First, on this day, the Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case against linguist Iryna Farion. Law enforcement officers are examining her scandalous statements and publications, as well as the episode with the publication of a letter from a student from occupied Crimea.
Subsequently, Farion was fired from her position as a professor at the Lviv Polytechnic National University. The Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi reacted to this.
“The position of the ministry remains unchanged — people who do not share the values of dignity and do not have respect for soldiers have no place in the education system. I hope that the SBU, within the framework of open criminal proceedings, will give a fair assessment of the statements and actions of the former teacher of the Lviv Polytechnic National University,” he said.
Investigation into the death of a child
A forensic medical examination showed that the preliminary cause of the boy’s death at a dentist’s appointment in Ternopil was acute pulmonary heart failure. The child underwent surgery under anesthesia, but it was not possible to revive him. The investigation into the death of a child in a Ternopil hospital continues.
Let us remind you that in Ternopil, a boy aged one year and ten months became ill during dental treatment. Soon after this, he died.
Shelling of regions
On the night of November 15, the Russians launched a missile attack on the city of Selidovo in the Donetsk region. In addition, Russian troops launched three missile attacks on the civilian infrastructure of one of the settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that two employees of the State Emergency Service, aged 31 and 34, were killed. Three more rescuers were injured. Four civilians were also injured.
