The Supreme Court of Ukraine has elected a new Chief Justice at an extraordinary plenary session. Stanislav Kravchenko, the head of the Criminal Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court, was elected.

Back in 2017, the Public Integrity Council published a negative opinion on Kravchenko, stating that he made decisions in violation of human rights and provided false information in his declaration.

And BBC Ukraine, citing sources in the Supreme Court, wrote that Kravchenko had promised judges free apartments in exchange for votes in his favor. The judge himself denies this.
