Finland to help rebuild Ukrainian cities and support educational reform in Ukraine

The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, arrived in Kyiv and signed an agreement on assistance in the reform of Ukrainian education. Finland will also support rebuilding Ukraine's infrastructure, reports Ukrainian Government.

The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, arrived in Kyiv and signed an agreement on assistance in the reform of Ukrainian education. Finland will also support rebuilding Ukraine's infrastructure, reports Ukrainian Government.


This agreement continues the implementation of the project "Finnish support for the reform of the Ukrainian school" until 2023. The project provides financial support for educational reform from Finland worth € 6 million and up to € 2 million from the European Union.

Denys Shmyhal and Sanna Marin also agreed to involve Finland in the future reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure using advanced technologies and European parameters and participate in rebuilding Ukrainian cities and towns.

Moreover, the Heads of Government also agreed on assistance from Finland in implementing reforms in Ukraine on the way to membership in the European Union.


Earlier, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, said that many countries expressed support for the initiative of "patronage" over the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and regions. The United Kingdom agreed to support the rebuilding of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Denmark — Mykolaiv Oblast, and the Baltic countries — Zhytomyr Oblast.


Finnish PM also met with the Ukrainian President.Volodymyr Zelenskyy thankedFinland forsupport which includes five packages of defense aid, sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as for financial and humanitarian aid.

"These are very important direct signals of support, first of all for the Ukrainian people, our people, who see that they are not left alone with today’s ordeals," said the President.
