In the Luhansk Oblast, Russian occupation forces fired on an armored evacuation vehicle that was going to pick up 10 people from the region. As a result of the shelling, a French journalist died, said the Luhansk regional governor Serhiy Hayday.

Shrapnel pierced the armor of the vehicle. As a result, an accredited French journalist, who was preparing an evacuation report, was fatally wounded in the neck.

There was also a patrol policeman in the truck — he was rescued by a helmet. The evacuation from the Luhansk Oblast was officially stopped.

The situation in the region

Heavy fighting for Severodonetsk and Lysychansk continues in Luhansk Oblast. The enemy has engaged all possible weapons, as well as using aircraft. The Russians are redeploying ammunition and equipment to the Severodonetsk axis. However, the Ukrainian military is firmly holding the line.

The occupiers killed two residents and wounded five others. At least 12 houses were destroyed in Severodonetsk in one day, 18 in Lysychansk, 10 in Vrubivka plus a community center, three in Zolote, and two each in Nyrkovo, Mykolaivka, and Viktorivka.
