The 2014 Ukrainian Revolution – also known as the Euromaidan Revolution or Revolution of Dignity – resulted in the ousting of President Viktor Yanukovych and the subsequent overthrow of the government.

Yanukovych eventually fled Ukraine for Russia where he is hiding to this day. In Ukraine, he is accused of high treason and contributing to Russia's war against Ukraine. On January 24, the ex-president was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment in Ukraine.

We spoke with lawyers, investigators, eyewitnesses, and reconstructed how Ukraine’s ex-president managed to evade the acting authorities with direct help from Russia.
