International Legal System Failed Ukraine & Its People - Lawyer

Scores of international treaties and agreements were violated with the Russian annexation of Crimea, said Ivanna Bilych, the General Counsel of Razom for Ukraine.

It is important for the Ukrainian government to work with civil society on the ground in Crimea to change the current situation and bring Crimea back to Ukrainian control via legal proceedings, Bilych said.

Bilych is the co-author of a report on the legal aspects of the Russian annexation of Crimea. The report was published by the Razom Center.
