Pre-trial restraint for Kolomoiskyi
On the morning of September 2, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code to the de facto owner of a large financial and industrial group, oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
He is suspected of fraud and money laundering. Investigators claim that between 2013 and 2020, Ihor Kolomoiskyi legalized more than half a billion hryvnias and moved them abroad. The oligarch allegedly used the infrastructure of controlled banks for this purpose.
In the evening, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv imposed a pre-trial restraint on Kolomoiskyi — two months in custody with an alternative bail of over UAH 509 million.
The meeting was held in a closed format at the request of the lawyers. The businessman's lawyers plan to appeal. They also stated that Kolomoiskyi did not plan to post bail of over UAH 509 million.
Low-quality dry rations
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has filed a lawsuit to recover UAH 456 million from a company that supplied low-quality food packages to the Armed Forces. The court hearing will take place on September 6.
The company in question is a private company with which the ministry entered into a contract to supply the Kyiv garrison three weeks after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion on March 14, 2022.
The Ministry of Defence does not disclose the name of the company, but the texts of the court case suggest that it is Tanos Technology LLC.
The Ministry of Defence says that the company has repeatedly violated the terms of the contract, which is why in December 2022 the ministry filed a lawsuit against the company to recover prepayment and penalties totaling UAH 456.66 million.

Invitations to the Nobel Prize ceremony
The Nobel Foundation has canceled invitations to the ambassadors of Russia, Belarus, and Iran to attend the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm after strong criticism of the decision.
The organization acknowledged that the decision to invite these countries had caused a strong reaction, including in Sweden, where the ceremony is to be held. They explain that the reason was the desire to "spread the values and messages that the Nobel Prize stands for as widely as possible".
A demining robot from Estonia
The Estonian Association of Rescuers will donate an MV-4 demining robot to its Ukrainian colleagues. The robot was named after Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

The vehicle is equipped with a remote control, which allows sappers to stay at a safe distance. As such, it will not only help Ukrainian rescuers defuse mines and unexploded ordnance but also save their lives, the embassy said.
