Kyiv under massive missile attack for the first time in more than 40 days: people are injured

On the morning of March 21, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with ballistic and cruise missiles, causing damage and injuries in the city.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.

In and around the capital, air defense shot down about thirty Russian missiles, including ballistic missiles. However, the strike damaged a high-rise building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. An apartment caught fire and people are being evacuated. In other places in the district, cars caught fire, and some houses had their windows damaged by blast waves.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a multi-storey building was damaged and cars were burning.

Meanwhile, in the Podilskyi district, debris fell on the territory of non-residential buildings. A fire was reported on the roof of a non-residential two-story building.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that ten people were injured. Six people were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and four more in the Sviatoshynskyi district. Two of them were hospitalized, while the others were treated on the spot. No one died as a result of the missile attack in Kyiv.

Later, the State Emergency Service clarified that the number of the injured was 13, including one child.

According to the military administration, the Russians used Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and ballistic missiles from the territory of Russia. In total, the air raid in the capital lasted almost 3 hours.

This missile attack on Kyiv was the first in 44 days. The last time Russians struck the Ukrainian capital was on February 7, when four people were killed.
