Liberation of Kherson, construction of wall on border with Belarus: highlights of the day

Ukraine regains control over Kherson and builds a wall on the border with Belarus; 45 more Ukrainian soldiers returned from Russian captivity. We gathered the main news from today.

Regaining control over Kherson

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces continue to liberate land on the Kherson axis. The advanced units of Ukrainian troops have already reached the west bank of the Dnipro river in some places.

Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Sak said that the Ukrainian side has almost complete control over Kherson, where the Defense Forces of Ukraine entered on November 11. However, there may be sabotage in the city and massive shelling on the recently liberated lands of Kherson Oblast.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian special units are currently in Kherson. Ukrainian defenders are already on the outskirts of the city and will soon enter Kherson.


Construction of the wall on the border with Belarus

"Ditch, embankment, reinforced concrete fence with barbed wire" — Ukraine is building a wall on the border with Belarus, about three kilometers have already been built in Volyn. Works are also underway in Zhytomyr and Rivne oblasts. The border is also being arranged in the regions bordering the territory of Russia.

Discovery of the remains of bodies in liberated Kherson Oblast

The remains of civilians were found in the liberated village of Beryslav district of Kherson Oblast. According to preliminary data, they belong to three local residents who died during the occupation.

During the initial examination of the skeletal corpses, fractures of the skull bones were detected. The remains were sent for a set of examinations.

Creation of the world's first naval fleet of drones

Ukraine is creating the world's first special naval fleet consisting of 100 marine drones. Ukrainians are urged to donate. In one day it is expected that funds for 10 unmanned surface vehicles using the United24 platform will be raised.


Release of Ukrainian defenders from captivity

Ukraine returned 45 more Ukrainian servicemen from Russian captivity. Among the released are soldiers and sergeants who defended Ukraine in battles. Two bodies of the fallen defenders were also returned.


Other important news:

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the entire Mykolaiv Oblast, except for a small area on the Kinburn Spit, which remains temporarily occupied;
  • two children tripped unknown explosives in Kharkiv. They were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds;
  • The Security Service of Ukraine charged a Russian citizen who was preparing a forceful seizure of power in Ukraine under the coordination of representatives of Vladimir Putin's administration;
  • On November 11, Ukrainian television was turned on in Kherson Oblast, despite the fact that the occupiers blew up television antennas in Kherson and the region;
  • In Kherson Oblast, civilians drive over a mine left by the Russian occupiers. Four people, including two children, were injured as a result of the explosion.
