Massive missile attack on Ukraine, 18 damaged energy facilities, 25 injured people: today's highlights

Russians fired more than 50 cruise missiles at Ukraine. 44 of them were shot down by the Air Force. 18 facilities, most of which are energy facilities, were damaged in 10 regions of Ukraine. A Russian missile shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces fell in northern Moldova. We collected the key news for today.

Massive missile strike on Ukraine

Since the morning of October 31, Russians fired more than 50 cruise missiles at Ukraine. 44 of them were shot down by the Air Force.

In particular, air defenses were operating in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Lviv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.

At least ten explosions were heard in Kyiv at about 8 am on October 31. Hits were also recorded in one of the communities of Kyiv Oblast.

Civilian facilities were damaged in Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi Oblasts. Critical infrastructure facilities were damaged in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernivtsi, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.

Occupants damaged 18 facilities in 10 regions of Ukraine in the morning

Russian troops damaged 18 facilities, most of which are energy facilities, in 10 regions of Ukraine with missiles and drones. This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, hundreds of settlements in seven regions of Ukraine were de-energized. There were local emergency power outages in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv Oblasts. The Prime Minister urges to consciously consume energy and reduce the load on the grid.

Russian terrorists have once again massively attacked Ukraine. Their target is not military facilities, but civilian critical infrastructure,” Shmyhal noted.

More than 20 people were injured as a result of massive shelling by Russians

As of 11:30, the police recorded 13 people who were injured as a result of massive shelling by the occupiers on the morning of October 31. This was announced by the head of the National Police Igor Klimenko during a telethon.

At 13:19, it became known that 4 people were injured in Cherkasy Oblast as a result of a strike on the energy infrastructure facility. They were hospitalized, the Regional Military Administration reported.

As a result of the strike on the energy facility in Bukovyna, 8 people were cut. They do not need medical care, the head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration noted.

Russian missile fell in Moldova

On the morning of October 31, a Russian missile shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces fell in the village of Naslavcea, Ocniţa district, near the Ukrainian border in northern Moldova. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova.

There is no information about the victims yet, but windows in the village were broken. Law enforcement officers surrounded the place where the missile fell, an operational group is working there.

Moldova declares Russian diplomat persona non grata

Moldova declared a representative of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau persona non grata after a Russian missile shot down by the Ukrainian military fell in the north of the country. This decision was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.

In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that “Moscow will respond to the expulsion of the Russian diplomat from Moldova,” TASS quoted.

Russians fired at civilian port tugboats near Ochakiv

Russian occupants continue shelling the port infrastructure in the Ochakiv direction. On October 31, two port civilian tugboats were hit, resulting in casualties. This was reported by the Operational Command “South”.

As a result of hitting the tugboats, which were transporting a barge with grain, a fire broke out. The control of the vessels was lost.

According to the Operational Command, two crew members were killed, and one with injuries was rescued. The fate of another is currently unknown.
