The Trilateral Contact Group, which includes Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and meets regularly in Minsk, Belarus, have agreed on an all-for-all prisoner exchange before the end of 2019.
This is according to the Russian permanent representative to the group Boris Gryzlov, reports Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
"The conditions of the detainees' release and exchange before the end of the year have been agreed upon," Gryzlov is quoted as saying.
This news was also confirmed by Daria Morozova, the self-proclaimed ombudsperson in the occupied Donetsk region. Morozova said that the final list and date are being confirmed.
Earlier on December 23, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that one group of prisoners is ready to be exchanged but final lists are still being confirmed.
