Death near shelter
During the air raid at night, people in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv went to a shelter located in a local clinic. In the video published by public broadcaster Suspilne, eyewitnesses say that the shelter was closed, and people had to stand at the entrance.
In the end, three people died there, including Yaroslav's wife, who spoke about the situation. According to him, he, his wife and child were near the shelter. The man ran to the other side to ask those responsible to open it. At that moment, the debris fell. The woman died, the child is fine.
Reaction
The Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor's Office, and the National Police launched an investigation into the deaths near the closed shelter.
The Prosecutor's Office opened two cases: on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and on the fact of negligence on the part of officials of a medical institution, which led to grave consequences (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Law enforcement officers detained the first deputy head of the Desnianskyi District State Administration, the director of the medical institution and his deputy, as well as a security guard. Roman Tkachuk, Director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration, assured that the shelters in Kyiv should now be open all the time.
Ammunition for Ukraine
The European Parliament has supported a bill to increase European production of ammunition and missiles. The document provides funding of 500 million euros.
It is intended to address the shortage of defense products in the European Union and speed up the supply of ammunition to Ukraine.
The situation near Bakhmut
The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the format of the operation in the Bakhmut sector has been changed, so there is now a lull. But it is temporary.
"At first glance, it seems that the enemy has refused to continue offensive actions in this area, but this impression is false. The format of the operation has temporarily changed due to the withdrawal of Wagner units and their replacement with army and airborne units. That's why the current situation may look like a lull. Unfortunately, it is only a temporary lull," the general said.
He emphasized that Russia is trying to seize the initiative to prevent Ukrainian counteroffensive actions and launch an offensive itself. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have suspended their advance on the flanks on the Bakhmut axis over the past few days, as other important tasks were being performed there.
Taxes for volunteers?
Ukraine's Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko responded to a statement made by the founder of the Dignitas charity foundation, Lyuba Shypovych. She claimed that even "volunteers registered in all registers" who collect all receipts for purchases, have requests and acts from the military, are obliged to pay taxes on volunteer fees if they used these funds to purchase goods that were not listed in the government's 2016 resolution.
Marchenko assured that no taxes need to be paid on goods transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also announced that the government will consider adding drones to the list of charitable goods that do not need to be taxed.
Deaths of cadets
On May 31, two cadets of the National University of Civil Defense were killed in Kharkiv Oblast as a result of an explosive device detonation. An internal investigation was launched. Four people responsible for the educational process were suspended.

He left a suicide note, but the police did not disclose what it said. Academy spokesman Ivan Halkin said that the deceased boy had a very positive characteristic. The academy had previously established that he had a conflict with his father.
