Finland closes the border for Russian tourists

Since September 30, Finland closes the border to Russian tourists who have Schengen visas issued by Finland or any other country. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pekka Haavisto, Yle reports.

The government explains its decision by the fact that Russian tourists endanger international relations. At the same time, there are exceptions. The government has compiled a list of about 10 reasons that allow Russians to enter Finland. For example, they will be able to visit relatives and go to an entrance exam at a Finnish educational institution.

Russian ships and submarines were spotted near the sites of the Nord Stream gas pipeline leak

European officials spotted Russian warships and submarines near the sites of the Nord Stream gas pipeline leaks earlier this week. This was reported by CNN with reference to two Western intelligence officers and another source familiar with the case.

Warships were spotted on Monday and Tuesday, and submarines were spotted last week. However, the sources are not in a hurry to claim that the ships or submarines have anything to do with the gas pipeline leaks. But their presence in the Baltic Sea will be studied as one of the factors of the leaks.

At the same time, European and American officials agree that it was Russia that had the opportunity and motive to intentionally damage the pipelines, writes CNN.

It should be as well recalled that according to the report of the Swedish newspaper Dagbladet, the fourth leak was discovered today on the Nord Stream gas pipeline in Sweden.
