The Ukrainian army has liberated and cleared two villages in Kherson Oblast from the occupiers, while the Russian troops destroyed their own combat helicopter. Despite this, the invaders continued shelling Ukrainian cities. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Successes of the Ukrainian military

The Ukrainian military liberated Andriyivka and Lozove in Kherson Oblast from the Russian occupation forces. According to the Operational Command "South", the confirmed losses of the invaders in the south are as follows: 89 soldiers, a T-62 tank, self-propelled howitzers "Msta-S" and "Msta-B", mortar system "Sani", 2 units of armored vehicles and 6 units of automotive equipment and a warehouse of enemy ammunition (in Bilohirka).

According to the General Staff, Russian troops also destroyed their own Ka-52 combat helicopter in Kherson Oblast: three Russian helicopters intended to attack Ukrainian units, but instead inflicted damage on their own. Because of this, on the way back, they were attacked by the anti-aircraft defenses of the Russian troops themselves.

Ukrainian cities under attack

On the morning of July 27, the occupiers fired S-300 missiles at the Industrialnyi district of Kharkiv. A total of two strikes were recorded. Rescuers are already working on the spot and are sorting out the rubble. At this stage, there is no information about the victims.

In the evening of July 26, it was reported that rescuers pulled out the bodies of three people from under the rubble of the district community center in Chuhuyiv, Kharkiv Oblast. Russians attacked this building on July 25.

Russian troops also opened fire on several communities in Sumy Oblast in northern Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, buildings, a power line and a transformer were damaged. In addition, the buildings of one of the recreation centers were destroyed. A 65-year-old female guard of the base was injured.

Aid to Ukraine

Ukraine intends to conclude an agreement with the International Monetary Fund in the amount of $15-20 billion by the end of the year. Kyiv has already sent its request to the IMF and is currently consulting with the Fund on new financing that could provide up to $20 billion over two or three years in the form of a Stand-By Agreement or an Enhanced Financing Facility.

The European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, said that this week the European Union will be able to double the export of Ukrainian electricity. Commercial electricity trade will help Ukraine compensate for some of the revenue losses.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has assured that they are trying to transfer the equipment to Ukraine as soon as possible. The day before, the United States announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which includes HIMARS systems.
