Multi-billion dollar aid to Ukraine and drone attack: last night's highlights

US President Joe Biden has signed a budget that includes nearly $45 billion in aid to Ukraine and allies, and Russia has again targeted infrastructure. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

“Crucial assistance to Ukraine”

US President Joe Biden has signed the country's budget for next year, which includes almost $45 billion in aid to Ukraine and its allies.

Biden called this assistance “crucial”.

In addition, Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reported that the US government is considering sending M2 Bradley fighting vehicles to Ukraine as part of further military support.

Night attack with drones

On the night of December 30, Russia again targeted infrastructure facilities in Kyiv Oblast with drones. However, the Air Defense Forces repelled the attack.

According to preliminary information, there were no hits. Emergency services are working at the crash sites.

Furthermore, on the night of December 30, Ukrainian servicemen destroyed 9 Shahed kamikaze drones and one Merlin drone over Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.

Almost half a million people in Odesa Oblast are without electricity

In Odesa and Odesa Oblast, 450 thousand of consumers are left without electricity due to another Russian attack on December 29.

Power engineers are trying to supply voltage primarily to critical infrastructure, but do not forget about household customers.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that after the massive missile attack on December 29, it was especially difficult with the electricity supply in Kyiv Oblast and the capital, Lviv Oblast, Odesa and Odesa Oblast, Kherson and Kherson Oblast, Vinnytsia and Zakarpattia Oblasts.

Ukrenergo will receive €70 million grant

Ukrenergo has signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the allocation of a €70 million grant provided by the Government of the Netherlands.

Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi noted that the funds will be distributed through the EBRD Special Fund exclusively for the purchase of equipment necessary to restore the reliable operation of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 gameplay trailer

Ukrainian computer game developer GSC Game World has released a new trailer for the second part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

The gameplay video showed shooting from different types of weapons, interaction with anomalies, battle with people and monsters, interface, as well as exploration of the Exclusion Zone around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
