New military aid from the USA, attacks on Zaporizhzhia, success of the Ukrainian military: the last night’s highlights

The US announced a new $725 million aid package; the occupiers attacked Zaporizhzhia with kamikaze drones and missiles, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south destroyed the ammunition depot. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Pressure on the Ukrainian personnel of ZNPP

The IAEA Director General reported that Ukrainian specialists at the ZNPP face “unacceptable pressure” due to demands to sign a new labor contract with a Russian company, while the Ukrainian operator urges them not to do so.

Success of the Armed Forces in the south

Aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the southern front made 13 strikes on strongholds, places of concentration of manpower, weapons, and hardware of the Russians. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed an ammunition depot in Beryslav Raion of Kherson Oblast.

Abandoned Russian weapons

During the stabilization measures in the de-occupied Kherson Oblast, the Security Service found a depot full of missile and artillery weapons of the Russian troops.

Among the finds are more than half a thousand artillery shells and ammunition for Grad and Uragan multiple-launch rocket systems, as well as more than a hundred anti-tank guided missiles and anti-tank mines.

Military aid from the USA

The Pentagon confirmed the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 725 million dollars. It will include, among other things, ammunition for HIMARS, medical equipment, and vehicles.

Attacks on Zaporizhzhia

On the night of October 15, Russian occupation forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with kamikaze drones. In the morning, the Russians launched a missile attack on the city, the local authorities reported.

Zelenskyy appeals

Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged to continue saving electricity during peak hours of network load. He said that 15 facilities, which the Russian occupiers wanted to destroy during massive missile attacks, have already been completely restored. The authorities promise to restore others soon.

Governor of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the IMF for 2023

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, was elected Governor of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the IMF for 2023. He will also chair the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank next year.
