New Western weapon systems arrived in Ukraine, Shakhtar tied with Real Madrid in the Champions League, and Russian occupiers struck Ukraine once again. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.
New weapons systems
Four more HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems arrived in Ukraine on the eve of the next meeting of the contact group on Ukraine's defense in the Ramstein format.
Also, the first German air defense system IRIS-T has already arrived in Ukraine. The arrival of American anti-aircraft missile systems NASAMS is also expected, said Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov. According to him, a new era of air defense has begun in Ukraine.
Germany, Denmark and Norway have officially promised to provide Ukraine with 16 self-propelled artillery systems Zuzana. They will be purchased from Slovakia.
Shakhtar's game with Real Madrid
Shakhtar Donetsk in the group stage match of the Champions League tied with the current winner of the tournament — Real Madrid.
The match took place in Warsaw. Before the match, the fans staged a performance, depicting the colors of the Ukrainian and Polish flags at the stadium.
New attacks
At night, the Russian occupation forces again launched a missile strike on the city of Zaporizhzhya, as a result of which windows and doors in residential buildings were blown out. According to preliminary information, there were no victims.
Also, 13 attacks were made in Sumy Oblast during the day. During the day 206 strikes were recorded in the region. Russians also conducted an air strike and fired, in particular, from prohibited weapons. There were no victims, but there is destruction.
Fighting in the south
On October 11, Ukrainian troops on the southern front destroyed 23 enemy troops, several pieces of equipment, a warehouse, a communications center and a Russian command post and secured the liberation of settlements.
The Russian military, for their part, attacked Ukrainian positions with helicopters and attack aircrafts, and did not stop shelling.

- Russia damaged about 30% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure in two days. For the first time since February 24, the occupiers targeted energy facilities, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said.
- The Russian occupiers kidnapped more than 700 residents of Melitopol. Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov says that the occupiers do not pay attention to age, gender or profession of the people. They take the abductees "to the basement" and seek cooperation by any means.
