Politics Through the Lens of Ukrainian Street Vendors
If politicians went to speak to local market sellers at least sometimes, they would know exactly how to manage a country: what pensions people need to be paid, how to create jobs, what to do with Russia and whom to nominate for presidents. But since they never go there (even for shopping), Hromadske decided to go and find out what the sellers have to say.

By the Zhytniy market in Kyiv’s Podil district, we met women from Rokytne - they travel over 100 kilometers a week to sell their home-made products. We inquired about where Ukraine should be heading, what they are most concerned about, who they vote for, and whether they have hope for a bright future.
