Power outage, examination of the bodies of the dead: last night's highlights

Kyiv residents experience electricity supply cuts to avoid power system accidents, and the mission of French experts was the first to examine the bodies of the dead in Kharkiv Oblast. Here is what you have missed from the previous night.

Power outage

Residents of Kyiv began to have electricity supply cut to avoid an accident in the power system. And on October 20, buses will run in the capital instead of some trolleybuses.

Power cuts were introduced in Kyiv from 11:24 PM on October 19. The outage for each customer will last no more than four hours. However, these blackouts may be repeated for some consumers during the day eight hours later, if Ukrenergo does not cancel the use of stabilization outages.

Inspection of exhumed bodies

The mission of French experts was the first to examine the bodies of the dead from the evacuation convoy near Kupyansk and in mass graves in de-occupied Izyum.

The experts were the first to arrive in the de-occupied Kyiv Oblast back in April. France handed over to Ukraine a unique mobile DNA laboratory, which provides an opportunity to conduct research at the sites of exhumation of bodies, saving time and resources.

PG Andriy Kostin said that today the mobile laboratory is used in Kharkiv Oblast, where dozens of visits have been made since the beginning of September. As a result, more than 80 forensic examinations have already been appointed.

A blow to infrastructure

Russians are trying to track the composition, condition and movement of Ukrainian units by conducting aerial reconnaissance, using drones. One of such anti-aircraft missile unit landed in Beryslav district of Kherson Oblast.

At noon, the enemy struck at a critical infrastructure facility in Vinnytsia Oblast with an Kh-101 air-launched missile from a Tu-95 aircraft. There were no casualties.

In Mykolaiv Oblast, the enemy fired from a mortar in the direction of Ochakiv port, its water area and along the recommended sea routes.
