Preparation of the next stage of de-occupation
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the “certain lull” after the rapid counteroffensive of the Defense Forces of Ukraine is actually preparation for the next actions.
“Perhaps, now some of you think that we have a certain lull after a series of victories. But this is not a lull. This is preparation for the next series. To the next series of words that are very important to us and must be heard,” said Zelenskyy.
Missile attack on Zaporizhzhia
At night, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Zaporizhzhia. It is known that the city was hit eight times.
According to preliminary data, the Russians hit two infrastructure facilities in the city. Information about the victims and destruction is currently being ascertained.
Fire in Sumy Oblast
On September 18, the occupying forces again opened fire on the Sumy region twice, a total of 52 attacks were recorded. As a result of shelling, a person died, a local farm was seriously damaged, and about 100 animals were killed.

US President Joe Biden has said that the US Armed Forces will defend Taiwan in the event of a possible invasion by China. However, the White House says this is not official US policy.
Biden also noted that so far there have been no signs that China has sent Russia weapons or “other things that Russia wants” for the war against Ukraine.
Fighting in the south
On September 18, the Ukrainian military on the southern front struck the air defense positions of the Russian occupying forces, as well as warehouses, control points, and a pontoon crossing.
Furthermore, during the day, the Ukrainian military in the south destroyed 29 occupiers, 4 units of military hardware, a fighter aircraft command vehicle, and 2 ammunition depots the occupiers.
