Publicist and public figure Dmytro Kapranov passes away aged 56
On April 16, publicist and public figure Dmytro Kapranov died at the age of 56, reported the Kapranov brothers' Facebook page.
"Friends, we are in grief. Dmytro died suddenly this morning. I will write tomorrow about the time and place of the funeral. Everything else is canceled, sorry," the post reads.
The brothers Dmytro and Vitaliy Kapranov are Ukrainian writers, publishers, publicists, public figures, and bloggers. They founded the Taras Shevchenko YouTube channel about the history of Ukraine, which as of April 2024 has more than 930,000 subscribers.
In 1999, the brothers also founded the Zelenyi Pes publishing house, which publishes contemporary fiction, including for children.
From the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Kapranov brothers fought against the Russians in Kyiv in the Azov Regiment.
