Ramstein 13

Ukraine's allies have agreed on new military aid for the Defense Forces. In particular, Canada will provide 288 AIM-7 air defense missiles and 10,000 105-mm artillery shells. Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States announced that they would supply Ukraine with hundreds of short- and medium-range air defense missiles and related systems to protect Ukraine's critical infrastructure and further support a counteroffensive in the coming months.

Several countries also announced plans to train the Ukrainian military and support Ukrainian equipment. Germany and Poland reported on their support for Ukrainian Leopard tanks. The Netherlands and Denmark reported on progress in plans to train Ukrainian pilots.

After the meeting, Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that he had received commitments from the allies to start training Ukrainian pilots on Western fighter jets. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the exercises had already begun.

Advancement of the Defense Forces

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the Defense Forces are advancing in all areas of the offensive: about a kilometer in each direction. The offensive continues at the Berdiansk, Mariupol, and Bakhmut directions.

“Our troops are facing strong enemy resistance and their superiority in terms of manpower and weapons. The enemy is doing its best to prevent the advance of our troops. At the same time, the offensive continues in several directions, our defenders are gradually but surely advancing and inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” says Maliar.

At the same time, Polish military analyst Konrad Muzyka, who closely follows the war in Ukraine, said that Ukraine has so far deployed only 3 out of 12 brigades for the counteroffensive in the southeast.

NATO and Ukraine

Members of the European Parliament have approved a resolution calling on NATO to accept Ukraine into the Alliance after the war is over. The parliamentarians expect that “the accession process will begin after the end of the war and will be completed as soon as possible”. The MPs also call on future NATO summits to prepare the ground for inviting Ukraine.

In addition, the European Parliament considers it necessary to develop temporary security guarantees for Ukraine that will work after the war until Kyiv becomes a NATO member. The deputies believe that not only NATO countries but also EU members and other states should work on this.

Search for Korolevska
