Battle for Donetsk Oblast

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a difficult battle for Donetsk Oblast is underway.

The battle for Bakhmut and Soledar, for Kreminna, for other cities and villages of the east of our country continues,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, Russian troops have concentrated the largest forces in this direction, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending the state.

Damage to the environment

The amount of damage to the Ukrainian environment from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation reaches more than 46 billion dollars.

The bulk of the damage is caused by air pollution — $27 billion. In just ten months, more than 42 million tons of greenhouse gases have been released into the air as a result of the Russian invasion. This amount is comparable to the annual emissions of Bulgaria.

In this way, hiding behind the residents of Enerhodar, they are trying to protect their military in case of an offensive by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Expansion of penguins

In recent years, the population of penguins near the Vernadsky Research Base has increased 6 times.

Polar explorers said that until 2007, sub-Antarctic penguins did not nest near the Vernadsky Research Base at all, in particular, due to the late thawing of the waters around Galindez Island, where the base is located.

But due to warming in the area of the West Coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sub-Antarctic penguins “rushed south”.
