Results of pseudo-referendums and announcement of positive news from the front: the last night’s highlights

The occupiers announced the results of pseudo—referendums in Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called them a farce and called on the West to act, and also announced positive news from the front. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Results of pseudo-referendums

The occupation authorities announced the results of the pseudo-referendums, according to which 93.11% of the residents of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 87.05% of Kherson Oblast, 98.42% of Luhansk Oblast, and 99.23% of Donetsk Oblast supported joining the Russian Federation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that “this farce in the occupied territory cannot even be called an imitation of referendums”. He called on the West to strengthen its support for Ukraine.

At the Security Council meeting, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia's implementation of the so-called Crimean scenario and another attempt to annex Ukrainian territory will mean that there is “nothing to talk about” with Vladimir Putin.

Announcement of positive news from the front

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not stop advancing: “I will say briefly and without details for now, although they will be good: we are advancing and liberating our land.”

On the southern front, a tank platoon of Russians tried to go on the offensive on September 27, but one of the tanks struck a mine, which caused the rest to retreat.

The Ukrainian military destroyed 58 occupiers, a Su-25 attack aircraft, an Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAV, a tank, and 7 other vehicles in a day. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also hit a checkpoint and an ammunition depot in Kherson Oblast.
