Russia amasses trainloads of missiles and ammunition on the Ukrainian border, in particular, one trainload is arriving from the city of Ulan-Ude, reports the Strategic Communications Directorate of Armed Forces of Ukraine.
AFU StratCom reports that Russia is concentrating a large number of transport-launch containers (TPK) with anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMS) for the surface-to-air guided weapons (SAGW) for S-300 missile systems near the Ukrainian borders and in the occupied territories.
At the beginning of August, a trainload of 28 wagons with ammunition left Ulan-Ude, carrying 32 missiles for the S-300 surface-to-air missile systems. The trainload is expected at the Ukrainian border in the 20th of August.
By mid-August, more than 120 containers with missiles for the S-300 systems were seized from the complex storage of missiles, ammunition, and explosive materials in Kotovo.
It is known that approximately 440 TPK for the S-300 systems were stored near Dzhankoi in the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the incident in Dzhankoi, it is still difficult to say whether these TPKs were destroyed completely, partially, or remained intact.
According to the AFU StratCom, the concentration of missiles for S-300 is happening in Zyabrovka (Belarus), 22 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, and the total number of TPK exceeds 60 units.
"The threat of massive shelling of the territory of Ukraine with S-300 is obvious. Taking into account the arrival of a number of trainloads by the 20th, it is also obvious that they are concentrating until August 24," AFU StratCom added.
