Russian forces launched a missile attack on the city center of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast on July 7. Casualties are reported, says Kramatorsk Mayor Oleksandr Honcharenko.

"Air missile attack on the central part of Kramatorsk. There are casualties. We are investigating the consequences, and rescue services are working," Mayor said.

Updated at 6:30 p.m local time. One person was killed, and six persons were injured due to the Russian attack on Kramatorsk on July 7. The number of casualties may be updated. Six buildings were damaged, including a hotel and a residential high-rise building, said Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

"This is a deliberate attack on civilians. Racists do not betray themselves and continue to "fight" with unarmed people. This will continue until we drive them out,"Kyrylenko said, urging people to evacuate from the city.

Situation in Kramatorsk

Russian forces regularly shell the city. On July 3, Russian forces hit Kramatorsk with Smerch multiple rocket launcher injuring one woman.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian troops are trying to take over the settlements of Verkhnokamianske and Hryhorivka in the Kramatorsk axis and are also using radio-electronic warfare complexes.

Situation in Donetsk Oblast

Now, approximately 45% of Donetsk Oblast is currently under the control of Ukraine, but the Russian forces constantly shell these territories, said Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration. According to his calculations, approximately 340,000 civilians remain in the free territory of Donetsk Oblast.
