Russian losses in southern Ukraine, shelling of Sumy Oblast in the north: last night's highlights

The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed more than 100 Russians, their equipment and ammunition depots on the southern axis; in Sumy Oblast, a forest caught fire as a result of Russian shelling, with the fire spreading to the territory of the Russian Federation; and Culture Minister Tkachenko opposes the closing of the Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv. Destruction of Russian troops and their equipment

On September 2, the aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out 22 strikes on the southern front, and Ukrainian missile and artillery units performed more than 400 artillery missions. During the day, the Ukrainian military destroyed 106 Russians and 60 units of their equipment in the south, says Operational Command "South".

They added that among the destroyed Russian equipment were:

• 14 T-72 and T-62 tanks;
• howitzer "Msta-B";
• airborne self-propelled artillery mortar system;
• two Uragan multiple rocket systems;
• three 152 caliber howitzer guns;
• 120 caliber mobile mortar;
• two reconnaissance UAVs;
• 35 armored vehicles.

Shelling of Sumy Oblast

In Sumy Oblast, Russians shelled the territories of the Krasnopil community three times and fired 50 mines and shells. As a result of the shelling, the forest caught fire, but due to the wind, the fire spread to the territory of Russia. Currently, there are no fires on Ukrainian territory.

Killed by Russian shelling

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 7,000 civilians have died and another 5,500 have been injured as a result of Russian shelling, said First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevhenii Yenin.

Lavrov and his delegation denied US visas

Russia requested 56 visas from the United States for Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his delegation to travel to New York for the annual meeting of UN world leaders on September 20. However, the Russian Federation has not yet received a single visa, writes Reuters.

"I am surprised to read the statement of the Union of Writers. I don't know what they have against the Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv. Bulgakov is from Kyiv. So, in his works of art there were lines of heroes about the liberation struggle at the beginning of the 20th century. But I think the museum is not to blame. It's definitely not worth touching," he said.
