On September 4, the Ukrainian military in the south destroyed 104 occupiers and a number of equipment; the Ukrainian authorities confirmed the liberation of three settlements; the Russian diaspora in Germany held a rally against support for Ukraine. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Successes of the Armed Forces in the south

On September 4, the Ukrainian military in the south destroyed 104 enemy troops, 6 tanks, 26 units of other armored and automotive equipment, 9 Msta-S and Msta-B howitzers, as well as the Eleron-10 unmanned reconnaissance vehicle.

Ukrainian aviation carried out 21 strikes on positions, support and command posts of Russian troops, clusters of forces and means, as well as on transport and logistics facilities of the occupiers.

Operational Command "South" reports that the Russian troops continue to resist, although they are demoralized to a certain extent. Among the Russian soldiers of the 127th regiment of the 1st army corps, who are in the south of Ukraine, a revolt was recorded. One of the reasons is unsatisfactory all-round support: personnel in advanced positions were left even without water.

Liberation of settlements

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the liberation of one settlement in Donetsk Oblast and two more in the south of Ukraine. Also, the Armed Forces occupied certain heights in the direction of Lysychansk — Siversk. Zelenskyy did not specify their names, but recently it was reported that the village of Vysokopillia in Kherson Oblast has been liberated.

Pro-Russian protests in Germany

In the German city of Cologne, about 2,000 mostly Russian-speaking protesters marched on September 4, demanding that the German government stop supporting Ukraine and lift anti-Russian sanctions.

Investigation of the explosion in Chernihiv

Law enforcement officers detained two people suspected of involvement in the explosions at the ammunition exhibition in Chernihiv on September 3, where 15 people were injured, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He noted that the person who gave the order to take the combat weapon to a public city event and the person who allowed the child to take the weapon were detained. The President reminded that the State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the criminal proceedings.

Exchange of prisoners

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has returned almost 600 people, most of them military, from the captivity of the Russian occupiers. Ukraine also collects data and verifies people deported to Russia: cases of more than 30,000 adults and almost 7,300 children are currently known. Ukraine has already returned 53 children from the territory of the Russian Federation.
