The situation in the Donetsk Oblast
The Russians focused their main efforts to attack the Donbas. The American Institute for the Study of War reported that the Russians had redeployed troops from the Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, and Kharkiv oblasts to seize the entire region. Currently, the occupiers are focusing on capturing the city of Severodonetsk.
On the morning of May 31, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russians were shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops along the entire line of contact on the Donetsk axis. On the Lyman axis, the occupiers are regrouping and preparing for the offensive. On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the areas of Zolote, Komyshuvakha, Nyrkove, Berestove, Pokrovske, and Dolomitne.
On May 30, the occupiers fired on 46 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, destroying and damaging 39 civilian buildings, including 33 homes, a school, a kindergarten, a concrete batching plant, a thermal power plant, and a store.
Three people were killed and four others were injured in Donetsk Oblast yesterday. In total, 450 civilians have been killed and 1,185 wounded since the start of the full-scale war in the region.
