Russians execute three prisoners of war near Robotyne in southern Ukraine

A video of the execution of three captured Ukrainian defenders by the Russian army has been posted online. Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The incident allegedly happened on February 18, 2024 near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya Oblast.

The video was posted by DeepState. According to the project, soldiers of the 3rd Operational Brigade "Spartan" of the National Guard were at the point where the shooting took place.

The prosecutors reiterated that the killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime.

The proceedings were opened on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This is not the first time the Russian military have shot prisoners of war. On the evening of February 17, Russians posted a video online showing the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers. Some of them were recognized by their relatives: these are Ukrainian defenders who could not be evacuated from the Zenit position in Avdiivka.

The next day, it became known about the shooting near the village of Vesele, Bakhmut district. The drone footage shows how a Russian soldier shot two prisoners of war during an assault on Ukrainian positions.

Donetsk Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into both cases.
