On the night of June 13, Russian occupation forces fired Uragan multiple rocket launchers at the residential area of Zelenodolsk, Kryvyi Rih district, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, said the head of the military administration of Kryvyi Rih Oleksandr Vilkul.
The enemy fired at the community with prohibited cluster munitions. As a result, numerous residential buildings were struck, including direct hits in high-rise apartments.
Cluster munitions (air bombs, missiles, artillery or rockets) are special means of destruction, a kind of containers, inside which are the same type of combat elements (including slow-action), which are scattered from the air over a large area. These combat elements provide damage to a much larger area compared to regular munitions.
Such munitions can remain in the ground for a long time and pose a danger long after the cessation of hostilities. It is because of cluster munitions that a significant number of civilians, especially children, die after the war.
One woman born in 1976 died in the shelling. Three women (born in 1965, 1970 and 1977) and an elderly woman born in 1938 were injured. A man born in 1977 was also wounded. The victims were taken to hospital, where they are receiving the necessary assistance.
Also at night, the occupiers fired from the Uragan MLRS at the settlement of Velyka Kostromka in the Zelenodolsk community. As a result, there is damage and fire in a private house. No victims were reported.
The situation in the region
There are no active hostilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. However, the threat of missile strikes remains.
For example, on the night of June 11, using Uragan MLRS and artillery, the occupiers hit two communities — Zelenodolsk and Shyrokove. Two people were injured, houses, the mayor's office and the community center were damaged, and the village of Velyka Kostromka was deprived of electricity and gas supply.
The next day, the Russians shelled two districts of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — Synelnykove and Kryvyi Rih. A woman was killed in the shelling in the Pokrovska community of Synelnykove district, and a house was destroyed there.
According to the head of the military administration of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, on the Kryvyi Rih axis, the Russian occupation forces are firing almost around the clock along the entire line of contact from multiple rocket launchers, artillery and mortars.
