The Russian occupying administration calls on the residents of Luhansk Oblast to come to the pseudo—referendum in exchange for having their problems solved, says regional governor Serhiy Hayday. This message is spread among residents of Svatove in particular.

The Russian occupying administration calls on the residents of Luhansk Oblast to come to the pseudo-referendum in exchange for having their problems solved, says regional governor Serhiy Hayday. This message is spread among residents of Svatove in particular.

"People are forced to live in the stadium for several months - not in houses, dormitories, or communal institutions. At an open sports facility – two months before the beginning of the cold season. These people have nowhere to return to – their homes were destroyed by the 'Russian world', which now looks the homeless of Luhansk Oblast in the eye and dares to promise something in exchange for a vote," says Hayday.

According to him, after the fairly quick capture of Lysychansk, Russians cannot advance a distance smaller than the area of this city. Hayday says that the enemy wants to report a complete occupation of the region: they burn the land around, but every next kilometer surrenders to them after significant losses.

In particular, the invading forces tried to storm the vicinity of Spirne and Serebryanka: populated areas of Donetsk Oblast, which are located on the border with Luhansk Oblast. According to the governor, the Russian army was struck by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and retreated. "As well as after seven more assault attempts from different sides. Two battles are still going on," says the official.

He noted that during the hostilities in Luhansk Oblast, Russians also continue shelling villages and towns. In particular, on the night of August 14, their artillery units shelled populated areas 15 times with cannon and rocket artillery.

Ukrainian military intelligence previously reported that the occupation administrations in the occupied territories are actively preparing to hold sham referenda on joining Russia.

The situation in the region

According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevhenii Yenin, the Russian army has already fired 4,000 rounds at Luhansk Oblast.

Meanwhile, the occupiers intensified their violent "mobilization" in the temporarily occupied settlements of the region. It now includes heads of personnel departments of enterprises and teachers.

According to regional governor Hayday, the situation in the temporarily occupied territories is catastrophic: the Russian occupiers are not involved in the everyday activities of the captured settlements.

"News from the occupied cities of Luhansk Oblast: infections in the water, rubble of broken houses, garbage, and mobile propaganda vans with large-screen television" Hayday said.
