Sanctions against Azarov, Tabachnyk, shelling of Zaporizhzhya Oblast: highlights for November 18

Zelensky signed a decree on NSDC sanctions against Azarov, Tabachnyk, and Tsaryov, and Russians shelled Zaporizhzhya Oblast three times, causing deaths and injuries. We have collected the main news for November 18, 2023.
Sanctions against Azarov and Tabachnyk
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of November 18. It imposes sanctions for five years against 100 individuals and 37 legal entities.
In particular, the sanctions will affect former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, former Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Tabachnyk, and former MPs Oleh Tsaryov and Dmytro Sviatash.
The sanctions include, inter alia, the freezing of assets, a complete restriction on trade operations, suspension of economic and financial obligations, and a ban on participation in privatization, lease of state property, procurement, and transactions with securities.
Shelling of Zaporizhzhya Oblast
Russians shelled the Komyshuvakha community in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, the National Police reported. The authorities noted that the occupiers twice attacked the village with rockets, injuring four local residents. A residential building also caught fire.
When the police and rescuers arrived at the scene, the Russian military fired again. As a result, two employees of the State Emergency Service were killed, and three more of their colleagues were injured of varying severity.

- The Ministry of Defense has conducted an audit of the tender for the purchase of folders for military personnel files. The Armed Forces of Ukraine unreasonably changed the parameters of the covers, which increased the cost, although there are cheaper offers on the market.
- Russian occupation forces attacked an energy infrastructure facility in Odesa Oblast with Shahed drones.
- The Defense Forces will receive more than 2,000 Ukrainian drones. They will be distributed in the hottest areas of the frontline, said Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
- Mykhailo Tkach, a journalist for Ukrainska Pravda, said he was attacked near the Tandyr restaurant in Kozyn, Kyiv Oblast. Police have opened a criminal investigation.
