The identity of the dead driver is being established. TASS states that "the head of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Kherson Regional State Administration probably died." The occupiers "appointed" local collaborator Dmytro Savluchenko to this position.

Kherson publication Most with reference to the Ukrainian law enforcers reports that Savluchenko could be the killed driver.

According to the outlet, the explosion took place on the morning of June 24 near one of the Khrushchev-era apartment blocks in the district of KhBK, when Savluchenko got into a car. He died on the spot along with his bodyguards.
