SBU attack on a power substation in Russia and a missile strike on the UN headquarters in Lebanon: October 15 highlights

The Ukrainian Security Service attacked the Krasnaya Yaruga electrical substation in the Belgorod region of Russia; military facilities were connected to it. The UN headquarters in Lebanon was hit by a rocket as shelling between Lebanon and Israel escalated. The forced evacuation of children from Toretsk and Marinka communities may be announced. SBU attack
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a successful attack on the Krasnaya Yaruga electrical substation in the Belgorod region of Russia. In particular, Russian military facilities were connected to it, a source in the SBU told hromadske.
“This is just another effort by the Security Service to make the occupiers understand that a blackout in response to the numerous attacks on energy infrastructure by them is a reality that is already on their doorstep,” the source told us.
Mandatory evacuation in Donetsk region
In the Donetsk region, a forced evacuation of families with children from the Toretsk and Marinka communities may soon be announced. Local administrations have already sent a submission to the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to local authorities, there are currently almost 240 children in the Toretsk community and 19 children in the Marinka community.
Almost 260 Ukrainians are still in the Gaza Strip
Ukrainian diplomats, intelligence, and security forces are working to help Ukrainian citizens in Israel and the Gaza Strip. More than 200 Ukrainians have already been taken from Israel to Romania. Preparations for further evacuation continue.
However, exit from the Gaza Strip is still blocked. There are about 260 Ukrainian citizens there.
Shelling of Kherson
Russian occupation forces carried out an air strike on the area of a critical infrastructure facility in the city of Kherson.
A powerful explosion was heard in the city. Immediately after this, electricity disappeared in some areas of the city, and there were interruptions in the water supply, said the head of the city military administration, Roman Mrochko.
During the second strike, power lines were damaged in the city.
The reconstruction work continues, in particular, in the Tavriiskyi district they were promised to be completed tomorrow, President Vladimir Zelensky said.
Attack on UN headquarters in Lebanon
The headquarters of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon in the city of Naqura was hit by a rocket. This happened during an escalation of firefights between Lebanon and Israel. It is not yet known who is to blame for the incident.
The organization's representative office is cooperating with the Israeli and Lebanese authorities to de-escalate the situation.
“We call on all parties involved to cease fire and allow us as peacekeepers to help find a solution. No one wants to see more casualties or deaths,” the UN statement said.
