Shelling of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblast, searches in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and VS Energy: today's highlights

Russians continued shelling de—occupied Kherson. Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine came with a search to the VS Energy company. The European Commission has decided to disburse a further 2.5 billion euros to Ukraine. We collected the key news for today.

Shelling of Kherson

On November 22, Russians continued shelling de-occupied Kherson. It is currently known about three dead and at least seven wounded people. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Yaroslav Yanushevych and the head of the city military administration Halyna Luhova.

According to Suspilne, a 61-year-old woman who received explosive craniocerebral trauma and injuries to both legs and a 37-year-old man with a neck injury and vascular damage died. The man was standing on the balcony when the shell hit the apartment. Later, the head of the city military administration reported another victim.

Searches in VS Energy

On November 22, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine came with a search to the VS Energy company. This was reported to us by an interlocutor in the Security Service of Ukraine.

It should be noted that the company is associated with Russian oligarchs Evgeny Giner, Mikhail Voevodin, and Alexander Babakov. The company owns several regional power companies, including Kirovohradoblenergo and Zhytomyroblenergo.

In general, as the source in the Security Service of Ukraine clarified to us, VS Energy holds 10% of the energy market of Ukraine. This industry is now suffering the most from the actions of the occupiers.

€2.5 billion from the European Commission

The European Commission has decided to disburse a further 2.5 billion euros to Ukraine. They will be spent on the reconstruction of the country. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

She also said that the European Commission is planning to provide 18 billion euros for Ukraine in 2023, with funding disbursed regularly.

Shelling of humanitarian aid distribution point in Zaporizhzhia Oblast

On November 22, the Russian occupation forces shelled Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In particular, the humanitarian aid distribution point was hit, which was located in the school building. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Starukh. As a result of the Russian occupants' attack, a social worker was killed and two women were injured.

Return of bodies of 33 fallen Ukrainian fighters

The bodies of servicemen who laid down their lives for Ukraine have been returned. On November 21, the bodies of 33 defenders were returned to their families. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

They point out that the operation was carried out with the cooperation of the Commissioner for Missing Persons Oleh Kotenko and a number of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

Search in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

On the morning of November 22, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine came to the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with a search. This is reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.

They indicate that the search is conducted jointly with the National Police and the National Guard as part of the work to counter the subversive activities of Russian special services in Ukraine.

With the participation of representatives of the church, law enforcement officers inspected the territory and premises of the Lavra, looking for prohibited items. The special service also checked people on the territory of the monastery to find out whether they are involved in illegal activities to the detriment of the state sovereignty of Ukraine.
