Shelling of Kherson

The morning attack covered the center of Kherson. According to the investigation, the Russians hit the places with the most massive gatherings of local residents. Civilian infrastructure facilities, including residential buildings, administrative buildings, and vehicles were damaged.

As a result of the shelling of Kherson by Russian occupiers on the morning of December 24, 10 people were killed. Another 55 were injured. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Yaroslav Yanushevych during a telethon, the "Interfax-Ukraine" quoted.

Head of the French Defense Ministry will visit Kyiv

On Wednesday, December 28, Minister of Armed Forces of France Sébastien Lecornu will visit Kyiv to assure Ukraine of Paris' support. This is reported by French media BFMTV and Le Figaro.

The media outlets note that Lecornu aims to “demonstrate to the Ukrainian authorities the unwavering support of France since the beginning of the war on February 24” and to honor the memory of the victims.

In particular, the French minister will visit the monument to heroes in Kyiv and meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksii Reznikov.

Results of shelling in Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the day on December 23, law enforcement officers received 22 reports of destruction as a result of enemy shelling. This was reported by the police of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

The police received information about the death of a 40-year-old woman who tried to hide from shelling in her house but received fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of shelling on December 22.

On the night of December 24, the occupiers used S-300 missile systems against civilians in Lezhyne village, Zaporizhzhia Raion. The missiles hit the building of the local educational complex and destroyed it. The blast wave smashed windows in neighboring houses and damaged facades, roofs, and fences.

A historic building in the district center of the Huliaipole community was also attacked. Shell fragments damaged the facades and roof of the building.

Russians shelled Kupiansk Raion of Kharkiv Oblast with mortars

On the morning of December 24, the Russian occupation forces launched mortar attacks on Kupiansk Raion of Kharkiv Oblast. They hit a house in the village of Podoly. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov.

A man of 72 years old died as a result of the attack. A 74-year-old woman received an explosive injury and shrapnel wound — she was hospitalized.
