Shelling of a medical facility in Kherson
Russian troops shelled Kherson, hitting a healthcare facility. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that the occupiers hit the operating room of the Kherson City Clinical Hospital. The Russians killed a doctor who was on his first day of work after his internship.
A nurse has an injured jaw. Four other injured medical workers are known to have been diagnosed with a concussion and acute stress reaction.

Russian statement on the attack on the Black Sea Fleet
The Russian Defense Ministry said that overnight it allegedly repelled an attempt by the Ukrainian military to attack ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet with naval drones.
The Russians claim that three unmanned marine boats tried to attack the patrol ships “Sergey Kotov” and “Vasily Bykov”, which were operating 340 km southwest of Sevastopol.
“During the repulsion of the attack, all three enemy unmanned boats were destroyed by fire from the regular weapons of the Russian ships,” the Russian ministry reported.

In addition, on the morning of August 1, Moscow city authorities announced a new drone attack on the city. They say that several drones were shot down, but one hit the Moscow City tower, just like the day before.
Large-scale conscription evasion scheme was exposed
Law enforcement officers have launched a pre-trial investigation into territorial recruitment and social support centers in 11 regions. According to the investigation, they organized evasion from military service during mobilization, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
Employees of the district recruitment and enlistment offices in the regions acted together with members of the military medical commission, law enforcement officials say. Thus, through the mediation of other people, they set up a scheme for issuing certificates of unfitness for military service for health reasons. Later, those liable for military service were deregistered. This service cost an average of 6 thousand dollars.
In addition, some of the persons liable for military service did not even undergo a military medical examination. This is evidenced by the absence of any information about them in the electronic healthcare system. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the certificates were also used to travel abroad.
