The case of the explosion in the Kyiv court

Ihor Humeniuk, who exploded in Shevchenkivskyi Court of Kyiv on July 5, had been making explosives for two years to escape from custody, said Tetiana Sapian, a strategic communications adviser to the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to law enforcement, during his stay in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center, Humeniuk was given small portions of substances that became the basis for explosives under the guise of medicines for 2 years.

Sapian says that the substances for the explosives were passed to Humeniuk by his accomplices. After that, he was “artisanally able to make” a “shaheed belt” and several improvised explosive devices.
