Shyrokyne: Look What War Did To Ukraine Seaside Resort

"Something could start at any moment so we have to be on our guard," a volunteer fighter for the pro-Ukrainian Azov battlaion told Hromadske.
This was filmed during the ongoing ceasefire in an area known by locals as the Garages outside of Shyrokyne. Shyrokyne a seaside town located roughly 20 kilometers from Mariupol, a strategic East Ukrainian port town which has been at the heart of the conflict for several months.
Before the war the houses used to be rented as holiday homes by tourists. Now they stand ruined by the fighting next to deserted beaches which have essentially become minefields.
The Azov volunteer battalion who are fighting from there come under fire everyday from separatist forces. They've made fortifications in the hillside from which they have a view of Shyrokyne. There are only 30 residents left in living in the part of Shyrokyne they overlook which is under separatist control.
