Strike on Kyiv Oblast, major fire in occupied Shakhtarsk, 19 downed drones: last night's highlights

Russians struck at night in Kyiv Oblast, a large—scale fire broke out in the occupied Shakhtarsk, and the Ukrainian military shot down 19 kamikaze drones in three regions in the evening. Here's what you may have missed from the previous night.
Strike on Kyiv Oblast
At night, Russian occupation forces targeted the territory of Kyiv Oblast, as a result of which a fire broke out at the site of the strike. Several hits were recorded in one of the communities. CIA head visited Ukraine in early October
Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency William Burns visited Ukraine in early October and met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials, CNN reports.
Burns reaffirmed the U.S. intention to continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. In particular, he promised that the Americans would continue to be ready to continuously share intelligence. The CNN source did not give any other details.
Drones shot down
On the evening of October 26, the Ukrainian military destroyed 19 Russian Shahed-136 Iranian-made kamikaze drones in two hours. Fifteen drones were shot down over Odesa Oblast, three - in Mykolaiv Oblast and one more - in Vinnytsia Oblast. The Armed Forces also downed a missile.
Fighting in the south
Ukrainian troops on the southern front destroyed two dugouts with soldiers inside, as well as more than 50 enemy troops and half a dozen pieces of equipment on October 26.
According to the command, the Russians continue active defense and are "looking for ways" to restore logistics and equip defensive lines on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Counter-battery confrontation continues along the contact line.
Shelling of Zaporizhzhya
Occupation forces shelled Zaporizhzhya again at night: the outskirts and suburbs were damaged. There are reports of a fire. Currently, infrastructure facilities in the city remain without electricity supply. Windows in some buildings were blown out. Information about the consequences of the shelling is being clarified.
