The defense forces have already liberated 1.5 km² near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, Joe Biden is close to a decision on whether to send ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, and Ukraine's national team won six medals on the first day of the Invictus Games. Here are the main news for September 10.

Progress at the front

The Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to advance another 1.5 square kilometers near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. There, the Ukrainian military is making small advances and trying to make it as difficult as possible for the Russians to supply themselves.

In addition, the head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, Vitaliy Barabash, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken part of the village of Opytne, south of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast. We are trying to get a comment from the General Staff.

Meanwhile, Russian troops have intensified their tactical aviation in the Black Sea in the direction of Snake Island. In particular, the occupiers sometimes drop guided bombs there. This is a continuation of pressure on civilian shipping, the command says.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine said that Russia has deployed more than 420,000 troops to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, including Crimea. In addition to them, there are also representatives of the Rosgvardia, other bodies, special units, and law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation that support the occupation authorities.

The decision on ATACMS missiles is approaching

U.S. President Joe Biden is nearing a decision to provide Ukraine with ATACMS long-range ballistic missiles, the Financial Times and ABC News report, citing U.S. officials.

The pressure on Biden to provide long-range weapons is growing from both parties in the US Congress. On September 9, an anonymous senior official from the presidential administration said that the decision to provide missiles could be made in the near future.

Ukraine and Sweden plan to produce 1,000 infantry fighting vehicles

Ukraine has agreed with Sweden to jointly produce CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles. The immediate goal is to produce at least 1,000 units of this equipment.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, the CV-90 is called the best infantry fighting vehicle in the world. Its main advantage is the care for the crew and troops. The Swedish vehicle has effective anti-tank weapons and a powerful 40-mm automatic cannon that can fire at a distance of up to 3 kilometers.

The first day of the "Invictus Games"

The Invictus Games 2023, a multi-sport tournament among veterans and military personnel, has started in Dusseldorf, Germany. At the start of the competition, the Ukrainian national team won one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.

Thus, Ukraine has five medals in the athletics competition:

gold - Oleksandr Makovei in the shot put in the IF8 category;

silver - Volodymyr Hera in the shot put in the IF7 category;

silver - Mykola Zaritskyi in the discus throw in the IF1 category;

bronze - Vadym Maznichenko in the shot put in the IF6 category;

bronze - Volodymyr Tovkys in the discus throw in the IF2 category.

In addition, Maksym Zubov won another silver medal for Ukraine in the IP6 powerlifting category.

New attacks

At night, Russian troops launched an air attack on Kyiv using Shahed drones. Ukrainian soldiers recorded the launch of 33 such drones in the direction of Kyiv Oblast, of which 26 were destroyed in the sky.

Four people were injured in the night attack in Kyiv Oblast. Drones also damaged buildings, educational institutions and a village council in the region.

In the morning, Russian troops attacked the center of Kherson. As a result of the attack, a 68-year-old woman was diagnosed with a situational neurotic reaction. In the afternoon, the Russians attacked Kherson again, causing a 69-year-old woman to sustain a mine-blast injury and a neck wound.

It was also revealed that the day before, on September 9, Russians fired at a car of foreign volunteers in Donetsk Oblast. Four representatives of a humanitarian organization were driving from Slovyansk in the direction of Bakhmut. As a result of a direct hit, the car overturned and caught fire. Two people were killed and two others were injured.
