Testing of updated warning system in Kyiv and situation in Bakhmut sector: last night's highlights

An updated warning system is being tested in Kyiv, and the situation in the Bakhmut direction is becoming more difficult, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Testing of the updated alert system

An updated emergency warning system will be tested in the northeastern part of Kyiv, in the Desnianskyi district, from 9 a.m. on February 28 until the evening of March 1.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, loud monotonous alarm sounds, voice messages about the test, and the National Anthem of Ukraine will be played during the test. Residents of Desnianskyi and neighboring Dniprovskyi districts were asked to remain calm.

Such measures are necessary to improve the warning system,” the Kyiv City State Administration explained.

Situation in the Bakhmut sector

The situation in the Bakhmut sector is becoming more complicated. The occupiers are destroying everything that Ukrainian defenders can use to strengthen and defend themselves, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Our soldiers who are defending themselves in the Bakhmut sector are real heroes. I thank each and every one who heroically defends this direction and other directions in Donbas. I thank each and every one of you who helps our soldiers,” he said.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that despite active hostilities in the area of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian troops do not intend to leave the city.
