The Sunday Show: Bringing Ukraine’s Reforms to The Fore

Watch The Sunday Show

What do international investors and governments expect from Ukraine? Are they really concerned about corruption and what does the Ukrainian government need to do to prove that their anti-corruption efforts are serious? After all, in a country where funds are lacking, it’s foreign direct investment, as opposed to loans, that should be pushing Ukraine’s economy forward.

In this week’s special edition of the Sunday Show, we examine Ukraine’s reform progress ahead of the Ukraine Reform Conference, which this year will take place in Copenhagen on June 27.

Foreign ministers, potential investors and politicians from EU, NATO and G-7 countries are expected to arrive in Danish capital for the conference, as well as Ukrainian officials, including Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. This is Ukraine’s chance to both demonstrate what they have achieved, and find out what their international partners and investors expect from them.

Hromadske sat down with Danish Ambassador to Ukraine Ruben Madsen ahead of the event to discuss Ukraine’s reform so far and what needs.

We also spoke to Executive Director for the Center of Economic Strategy Hlib Vyshlinsky and Acting Ukrainian Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova in the studio about how they feel Ukraine’s reform efforts are going.
