A United States grand jury has indicted consultant Paul Manafort on charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and failure to register as a foreign agent. Manafort, who served as the chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, has a long and unsavory history in Ukraine. He made millions consulting and lobbying for Ukraine’s corrupt president Viktor Yanukovych, ousted in 2014, and had extensive ties with Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs.
