Ukraine Arrests Another High—Profile Official in Anti—Corruption Purge. The International Court of Justice ruling on Ukraine’s case against Russia Explained.

OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine lost one man and two were wounded in the attack near the village of Pryshyb, an area not controlled by the government in the Luhansk region, eastern Ukraine.

Another high profile arrest occured in Ukraine. Former MP, Mykola Martynenko, was detained on the charge of looting more than $17 million.

We talked to Darya Kelenyuk, the executive director of the Anti-corruption Action Centre about significance of this case.

✅ Explaining The ICJ Decision On The Case Ukraine vs. Russia

The International Court of Justice has partially granted Ukraine’s request for preliminary measures against Russia. The decision concerned provisional measures based on claims that Russia supports terrorism in Donbas and ethnic discrimination against Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars in annexed Crimea.

We spoke to Mykola Gnatovskiy, professor of the international law, to understand what this decision means for Ukraine and how could it influence the Russian Federation.

✅ The Kremlin's Crimean Prisoner On Hunger Strike

Ruslan Zeytullaev is a defendant in the so-called case of Crimean Muslims of ‘Hizb-ut Tahrir’, an organization, which is considered terroristic by Russia. On April 4th he has declared a hunger strike. Human rights organizations believe that his health and life is in danger.

According to the decision of the Appellate court of Russia, Ruslan’s case is now being reviewed by the North Caucasus district military court of Rostov-on-Don.

✅ Study: How EU28 Perceive The Russian Threat To The European Security?

At the time when Europe is challenged by many problems, Russian influence remains stronger there. A new comparative study “Behavior of Putin`s Russia through the lens of allied strategic and policy documents” by European Values Think-Tank will be presented. It will analyze security strategies, foreign policy strategies and annual reports reports the allied intelligence agencies of EU28 and see how these documents perceive behavior of the Russian Federation.

Hromadske interviewed Jakub Janda, the head of Kremlin Watch Program and the Deputy Director at the European Values Think-Tank based in Prague, about the study and the alleged Russian interference in the French elections.

✅ Turkish Referendum: Any Reasons To Remain Optimistic?

Turkey held a referendum on replacing its parliamentary system with stronger presidential system, giving the president, Tayyip Erdogan, executive power. 51.5% gave 'YES' to the referendum, according to Reuters. The other half of society was left dissatisfied.

We spoke to Sercan Celebi, Turkish activist, founder of 'Vote And Beyond' on why he believes there is reason to stay optimistic about Turkey.
